HR PARTNER – Safety Net
The role of a nominated HR Partner is integral to the smooth functioning of an organisation, ensuring not only legal compliance but also fostering a positive and productive work environment. Their duties can be quite diverse, reflecting the wide-ranging nature of HR responsibilities. It’s important to note that additional interventions in the role of nominated HR Partner can vary depending on the organisation.

It is important to note that additional interventions in the role of nominated Health and Safety Competent Person can vary depending on the organisation. Fees for this additional work will be as per our current schedule of services.

NOMINATED HEALTH & SAFETY COMPETENT PERSON:

A nominated competent person is someone who has the necessary skills, knowledge, experience and qualifications to manage health and safety risks effectively in the workplace. This person can be an internal employee or an external consultant.

The competent person advises the employer but does not bear the ultimate legal responsibility, which remains with the employer or organisation. Key Responsibilities may include but not exclusively be:

  • Risk Assessment: Identifying workplace hazards and evaluating risks.
  • Health and Safety Policies: Assisting in drafting, implementing, and reviewing safety policies.
  • Training and Awareness: Providing health and safety training for employees.
  • Incident Management: Investigating accidents and recommending preventive measures.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Ensuring adherence to relevant health and safety legislation.
  • Communication: Acting as a liaison between management and employees on health and safety matters.

Retained £250.00 plus VAT per annum.

Safety Net - Health & Safety Competent Person

3 hours of Health & Safety support limited to:

  • Nominated Competent Person
  • Risk Assessment: Conducting regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards in the workplace and proposing measures to mitigate these risks 
  • Policy Development: Assisting in the development and implementation of Health and Safety policies and procedures in accordance with UK Health & Safety laws and regulations
  • Incidents: Responding to Health & Safety incidents or accidents, excluding reporting and investigation
  • Compliance Monitoring: Liaising with external Health & Safety inspectors or auditors
  • Advice and Support: Acting as a point of contact for Health & Safety advice   
  • Communication: Regularly communicating Health & Safety issues and updates

Charges and Terms of Payment

a. The Client agrees to prepay any amount shown within Payment Terms shown on their contract for Consultancy provided by the Company.

b. The Company will issue the Client a statement and invoice at the beginning of each month showing the Consultancy used in the preceding month, if the cost exceeds the prepayment, then the Client agrees to pay for the excess time.

c. Any accrual for Retained HR, Leadership Development and Health & Safety services shall expire if unused after a further two calendar months.

d. Any accrual for Safety Net – HR Manager or Safety Net – Health & Safety Competent Person shall expire if unused after twelve calendar months.

e. Invoices shall be due for payment after 14 days when paid by bank transfer or after 21 days when paid by direct debit, or sooner if the invoice demands.

f. If payment of any sum due under the Contract is not paid by its due date (or sooner if the invoice demands) the Company shall be entitled to charge interest thereon at the rate of four per cent above the Bank of England rate in force at the date the payment was due from the date of delivery of the invoice until payment is received by the Company.

g. The Company shall be entitled to suspend performance of the Consultancy until the payment of all money due to it in accordance with invoices delivered to the Client have been paid provided that no such suspension may take place unless the Company has given written notice requiring payment of an overdue sum and the Client has failed to make payment to the Company within seven days of the date of the notice.

h. If any part of any invoice is disputed or queried by the Client, it will promptly notify the Company of the reason for the dispute and both parties will use their reasonable endeavours to settle the dispute forthwith. The Client shall not delay payment of any undisputed amount of the invoice.

i. Calculations

i. 15-minute intervals when a minimum cost is not specified.

ii. On site meetings charged at a minimum of 1 hour.

iii. Letters and forms are charged at a minimum of an hour or time taken whichever is greater.

iv. Copy letters and forms then adapted will be charged on a time taken subject to a minimum of 15-minutes.

v. Rates are reviewed annually in April, and you will be advised of any changes no less than one month in advance.

vi. Travel or accommodation expenses when attending meetings calculated from our offices or the address of the Consultant, whichever is the greater.

vii. Charges may be applied for cancellations, see Schedule of Charges.

j. Rates are reviewed by the Company annually in April and the Client will be advised of any changes no less than one month in advance.
